He is known as “Alex” among family, friends, and brethren. He is from the Province of Laguna, Philippines.
His journey as an immigrant in New Zealand started on 24 December 2007.
Alex is an overseas lawyer or attorney -at- law from the Philippines. He took the Philippine Bar Examination in September 1994.After taking the Philippine Bar Examination, he started working as a Legislative Staff for the 2nd District Of Laguna in the Philippine House of Representatives.
He passed the Bar Examination and was admitted as a Member of the Bar by The Philippine Supreme Court, and signed his name on the Rolls Of Attorney on 02 May 1995.
The call of public service beacons, and so as a young lawyer, he joined the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO), Department of Justice engaged in litigation as defence counsel in criminal law, as well as representing civil cases and doing mediation services.
From 2001 to 2007 he worked as Public Prosecutor in the Laguna Provincial Prosecution Office, Department of Justice (DOJ) doing preliminary investigations, resolution of criminal cases and filing criminal cases in court, and doing daily trials or litigation of criminal cases in the Regional Trial Court (equivalent of the High Court) and the Municipal Trial Court (equivalent of the District Court).
In 2008, he studied at the University of Auckland and was able to obtained a Certificate Of Proficiency (Equity).
On 17 September 2010, he was admitted as Barrister & Solicitor in the High Court.
He also worked as Support Officer in the Family Court, Auckland District Court, and various law firms.
Alex is no stranger to the many struggles of a migrant in New Zealand. Before becoming a lawyer here, he worked as a shelves filler, house cleaner, factory worker, and as security staff.
